I am Michelle McLin, the Acuity Advisor. I have an 18+ year career in product marketing, product development, and marketing operations. I can amplify your business' performance and mobilize the markets in which you compete.

I spent 12 years in the telecommunications industry working for companies like Verizon Wireless and Comcast Communications, where I was responsible for packaging & pricing entertainment products & services including: mobile devices, apps, landline phone service, high-speed Internet & video services in TV, mobile & online environments. Prior to the telecommunications industry, I worked with Digitas and consulted with companies like General Motors, FedEx, Delta Airlines, and Columbia House to develop customer acquisition plans and target marketing strategies. I have also worked with start-ups and small businesses to develop business plans, product extension strategies, and raise venture funding.
I am an avid student of global communities and world history. I fuse these two personal passions to partially inform my work in identifying market trends and delineating customer preferences. I leverage global market similarities to build economies of scale and support efficient market entries. I underscore differences in global markets to formulate unique strategies for specific regions and maximize customer responsiveness within them. I enjoy sifting through the rich textures of world cultures and from them gleaning a deep understanding of consumer motivations. Accordingly, I have lived and worked all over the the continental United States. I have also worked in Argentina, France, Spain, Kenya, and Canada. My international travel has emcompassed: South East Asia & the Pacific, Western & Eastern Europe, North Africa & the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Thus, I am familiar with a number of markets from all corners of the globe and can quickly become familiar with new world regions that cross my path.
My marketing experience includes: market research; data analytics; customer targeting & segmentation; customer acquisition tactics; customer retention strategies; and media mix management. My product development experience includes: consumer research; user design; user experience development; use case & customer journey stories; software & hardware engineering; agile, scrum & waterfall methodologies; product feature prioritization & backlog management; as well as beta, acceptance & usability testing. I am adept at extracting market insights and translating customer needs into technical product requirements that drive product roadmaps and go-to-market implementations.
I graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, Cum Laude, with a BA in English Literature & Business Management. I hold an MBA from Babson College's F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in Wellesley, Massachusetts with a concentration in International Business & Entrepreneurship, where I was a Babson Fellow.
